    Dear sirs,
I would like to find out if Lars Halvorsen have archives ie photographs of all the boats they have built in the early fifties as my father had a Halvorsen thirty that he purchased in the late fifties from Max mantel that I belive had been built for a Mr. Danial Chen or a Mr. Ron Brooks. For some strange reason our family has no photos of this boat other than photos from a Seacraft magazine as Max mantel had added many gadgets to the boat for at that time no one had tv or depth sounders or auto pilots.etc. Anyway could anyone steer me into a contact at the company that could answer some of my questions. From the age of ten I spent a great deal of my time at Bobbin Head and fishing inparts of Cowan Creek and I am sure I new most of the boats and their owners name during that time. Most holden car dealers were the ones that seemed to be able to buy the then luxury boats. The fiberglass boats of today dont have the same magic as did the wooden ones.
I would be gratefu l to have a reply.
    Sincerely,
    Robert Walker

    Dear Robert,

The Halvorsen Club is very keen to create an archive file of all the Halvorsen built boats and is keen to hear from anybody who knows any history, has photos or knowledge of a boats demise.

We will see what we can find for you on your Fathers boat and if it is still around. To that end if you have any history or photos we would be very greatful as well.

Another option which may assist your research is to contact David Payne from the Australian National Maritime Museum.

    Kind regards

    Pete Arnold

    Dear Sir / Madam,

I have been the owner of the spec. built Police Launch “ALERT” for many years. I am very interested in any information on this vessel I can find. I am aware of her sistership the “NEMESIS” which I believe is still on the water.
I have just read the book ” WOODEN BOATS & IRON MEN” Great read ! I saw in the book, the index of hullbuild numbers which was very useful to me. I thought these hulls were built in 1969 however, the above book describes them built in 1965. Could you please confirm this for me, and any other information would be most appreciated.

    Kind Regards

    W. Bridge
